The design of an auditorium has many variants, so we must avoid any kind of noise that is transmitted through multiple paths. That is why I as an architect, I have to take into account every material that I will use when I designed an auditorium.
The materials can be used to reduce the reverberation time of a room or can also be used as a barrier to reduce the intensity of sound. For an audience, it is necessary to use two types of materials to cover the surfaces of the space: those that reflect the sound and those that absorb it.
Absorbing surfaces are used in the rear to avoid the reflection of sound back to the room. For this I used soft materials such as cork or felt to a greater absorption
To enhance the sound, I use reflective materials that are those hard materials such as metals, which reflect almost all the sound that reaches them.
The success of the acoustics in an auditorium will depend on the proper balance between the absorbent and reflective of sound.
